POWERSHACKS
The first "hit" was the "powershack". It was the remote pumping of water using the most efficient DC permanent magnet motors and solar panels. The system's have now evolved to a pumping capacity of up to 12,000 gallons a day. Integrating the passive energies of solar in his designs, "powershacks" were introduced to the building strategies.
The criteria of a Powershak:
1. Title 24 has to pass with a margin of 3 points above the California Energy Commission's mandated minimum. And/Or
2. Having a minimum of 2400 watts of solar or wind "net metering" back into the utility grid.
The powershack continues to evolve. It is typically made up of a hybrid home possessing the E.P.A Energy Star Logo, backed up with either/or photovoltaic solar panels, and/or a wind generator, and an automatic transferred propane natural gas driven 7-20 kw generator
WHO ARE WE?
Powershacks staff has been in Chico over 30 years. We believe strongly in alternative power, living off the grid since 1980. we have designed approximately 300 structures in the seismic 3 & 4 zones. A member of CABEC, (California Association of Building Energy Consultants), and AIBD, (American Institute of nBuilding Design). We consistently itegrate passive design with hybrid technologies to create sustainable homes that will perform many years in the future.
